A good desk?

I am buying some new furniture for my room and the first thing on my list is a new desk. I have a 19 inch montitor and a 5.1 system, so I need a desk that can fit all that. My room isnt that big, so I need something decently sized. Anyone know any good sites for desks? thx 🙂

Try to find some free wood and build one like I did. I even built a bookshelf that sits on top on the desk. They are not pretty but very functional. Total cost for the desk and bookshelf = $8. I bought an 8x10 that I cut and made two shelves for the bookcase.

Sorry no pics. If someone wants to give me a digital camera I would be more than willing to post some pics.

Take it from someone who has sold furniture for 3 years - measure the exact space your desk will go in. Measure length & width needs for your desk. Then head over to an Office Depot/Max or Staples or some other furniture place and test out a couple ones that grab your eye in functionality. (Make sure you bring a tape measure) Website wise, you could check out OD/OM/ST's respective websites but that's about all I can think of.

That's the desk I'm using, works fine with a 21" monitor.

I didn't bother installing the monitor platform or the keyboard sliding thing since I have lots of room in front of the monitor for the keyboard and mouse pad, and the monitor fits snugly between the two cubby things.

I have a big ass metal office desk and love it. Its a huge pain to move but its sturdy as hell, roomy, cheap, and you can paint it any color you like. I see them in trade papers from $10 up to $100 all the time. I got mine for free because somebody just left it on the back porch of the house I was renting. Did a little sanding and used two cans of black paint and now I have a really nice desk.

Try this one it's $79.94 at Staples but I suggest you check your measurements and take a look at it first.. either way when I took a look at it it looked pretty well built and that door for the computer is nice to cut down on noise.. I would buy it but my case and monitor (21") are too deep to fit it..
