Case in point, not one person on the right has condemned the videos and the actions of those people. They merely deflect trying to say the left does it too.

ummm the Republican Party did not exist when the constitution was written.

Also, it was Democrats who passed jim crow and segregation laws in the south and Democrats who added the confederate flag to state flags.

you do realize that the republicans proposed an amendment to the constitution to discriminate against homosexuals just recently?

and half a century ago, the democrats were deeply flawed. but we are now living in the present, and times have changed dramatically. although by your posting style here, you seem to be living in the past all too much.

Republican is synonymous with "I became rich and stopped evolving". Democrat is synonymous with "I've evolved but I still want to steal from the rich."

These aren't like other videos, showing one or two isolated GOP idiots yelling vitriolic hate mongering epithets at Obama and his supporters.

Just watch the line of supporters stream in, relentlessly screaming about Obama being a Muslim, a terrorist, a communist...death threats and expletive laced slurs.

Where do these small-minded people live, and why do they flock under the GOP's wing?

There for a second I thought this was another Rev. Wright video

Welcome to a world dominated by partisan 24 hour news, partisanship, and ignorance. Politics took a very dangerous road when strategists decided it was best to get people to define themselves as "us" or "them." Politically, we are a nation of two groups that hate each other, and that hate gives us an excuse to ignore common sense, facts, and any opposing viewpoint. If you tell me something I don't want to hear, I can simply dismiss you as them. Bias news channels of both flavors simply exacerbate the problem as people no longer even have to hear a world-view that disagrees with their own. Reason has most certainly taken a back seat blind hatred.

Meanwhile, the real power brokers on both sides worship the same temptation: greed. While they've got Americans hating each other, they've got their hands in our back pockets taking whatever is left. They've done well for themselves.

I do have to say though, these videos particularly disturb me. If the Republicans have successfully convinced their base that Obama is a terrorist, then I'm afraid we are heading down a VERY dangerous path. If you had asked those people what should be done with terrorists, I'd imagine most would say death. Democrats can make some pretty unconvincing arguments at times, but that attitude of the Republicans in those videos can be downright scary.

Well there are also rich Democrats who are excellent at avoiding taxes and there are poor Republicans who want low taxes and lots of spending.

I basically came in here to say this.

I would only add - does the OP generalize much?

Actually one good thing about a Dali Lama victory is it would unmask the Dems and Marxist weirdos they are. Once the media driven mask of false virtue is breached and people the Dems actually want the country to fail and are quite cruel at heart then the tide turns dramatically. After the financial wipe out (and its going to get much much worse) I think winning party is doomed anyway more or less. I see a third party rising.

The PA video was all old folks from the local Alzheimer's clinic. Anger management is an issue with such types. They all act just like McSame.

See, the left wing is very tolerant and accepting.

Libs are the cruelest people going. Hate is not the ultimate form of evil - hate disguised as love is - and that's the Marxist neo liberals we have today. They want your money and to ah heck your kids.

Those McCain/Palin supporters don't seem to be talking much about tax policy, health care, economic policy, education reform, etc.

All I hear is "Muslim, terrorist, communist, kill him, lovely human, etc."

Now if anyone wants to show a video of Obama supporters doing the same, go right ahead. I'm waiting.

I'm sure you can find a ton of Obama supporters who would call Bush a fascist and a terrorist, and McCain along with him.

Where do you live?

You're right. I'd much rather they just not wear a mask and call people terrorists and faggots and tell them to die.

Maybe you've just been surrounded by so much hate, you couldn't even identify genuine love.

They all want our money. Don't kid yourself.

Well that's the great thing about this forum; you can show dissenting opinions about ANY topic.

I'm sure someone here has a link to an Obama/Biden rally where we see supporter after supporter call McCain a "terrorist, communist, fundamentalist, kill him, etc." Patiently waiting for proof.

I can't believe you actually think these things only work one way and not the other.

I'm not going to bother searching for one because we all know they exist and make up a decent faction of the Democratic party. Terrorist, fundamentalist, war criminal (he would get that one probably 3 days into office), fascist, etc.

That stuff is good, very good. We need more of it. Bring it on, as George would say.

It will destroy McCain.... Might as well get an endorsement from the Klan and the American Nazi Party while he's at it.

Major fail. :disgust:

From wiki:
When the Republican Party was created, the two major parties in the United States were the Democratic Party and the Whig Party. in oThe Republican Party was created in 1854 in opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Act that would have allowed the expansion of slavery into Kansas. The Republican activists denounced the act as proof of the power of the Slave Power?the powerful class of southern slaveholders who were conspiring to control the federal government and to spread slavery nationwide. The name "Republican" gained such favor in 1854 because "republicanism" was the paramount political value the new party meant to uphold. The party founders adopted the name "Republican" to indicate it was the carrier of "republican" beliefs about civic virtue, and opposition to aristocracy and corruption.[1] The name had been in previous use by Jeffersonians, Jacksonians, and nationalists.

Besides opposition to slavery, the new party put forward a progressive vision of modernizing the United States?emphasizing higher education, banking, railroads, industry and cities, while promising free homesteads to farmers. They vigorously argued that free-market labor was superior to slavery and the very foundation of civic virtue and true American values?this is the "Free Soil, Free Labor, Free Men" ideology explored by historian Eric Foner.[2] The Republicans absorbed the previous traditions of its members, most of whom had been Whigs

I bolded the last senatnce in case somebody wants to argue they began earlier as Whigs.

Seems in the past week or so I've heard both Obama and Biden say on national TV that they don't support gay marriage.

Did you have a point?

Not all republicans are hateful, racist bigots.
But all hateful, racist bigots are republicans.

Why is that?

They say it's up to states. They have no desire to stop California from allowing gay marriage, and therefore opposed the ban ammendment.

They can't propose forcing states to recognize gay marriage because that would be political suicide, just like politicians in the past couldn't be liberal enough to support slavery abolition, and civil rights, until society became liberal enough.

This is the same old story- Conservatives opposing equal rights, liberals supporting them but not able to act yet. The incredible thing to me is how conservatives ALWAYS fail to recognize that they're consistently on the wrong side of history.
