I already deduct my pets on my income taxes.
Farm animals are a depreciable asset. In fact, last year we sold an adult goat that we had purchased a couple years earlier - we ended up paying taxes on that sale because the sale price was greater than its value after depreciation, leaving us with a net profit. (I have a good accountant who apparently knows her farm stuff.)

There's a poor family here in town that can't afford any pets. The kids have named some of the cockroaches and are treating them as pets. I'm for this if they can get the deduction for the cockroaches.

4 legs, 8 legs, 6 legs, how can we discriminate based on legs? Think of the children!
