in for the first "olive garden sucks/isn't authentic/heats up pre-prepared frozen food" post!

I'm not saying it's bad food, but what I bolded is true. I went to an Olive Garden about a year back, and a piece of chicken they served me had already been cooked, but was still frozen in the middle.

Who cares?

I don't go to Olive Garden for chicken...

That's like ordering a steak at Denny's/IHOP.

Please explain what you do go for. Is it the Elmer's glue they pass off as Alfredo sauce?

Calamari!

Cheers for Olive Garden. Never ate there so I might have to try it out.

Glad to hear the manager treated you right. I've only been to OG once and wasn't impressed. Their breadsticks were salted to hell. I couldn't even eat them. The pasta dish I got was so-so. I doubt I'll be going back.

Right, because chicken has no place in Italian cuisine or anything.

Wouldn't hurt or next time you go in, ask him for his boss's contact info and that you wanted to send him/her a good word about him.

So did you have the white sauce-from-a-microwaved-platstic pouch or the red sauce-from-a-microwaved-plastic-pouch?

I worked for some Darden restaurants when I was younger. OMG. There's more beeping in a Red Lobster kitchen than a McDonalds.

i think most managers very much care about service - its only that some of the employees dont.

also, if you have a problem with service, you should notify the manager - its not to be a pest, because they actually welcome the feedback. otherwise , theyll have no idea how theyre running. (though of course i usually never bother to do this)

Red Lobster has to be the worst restaurant ever.

Olive Garden is one of those places where the location has a big impact on food quality. Some kickass and some are downright terrible.

Right, because chicken has no place in Italian cuisine or anything.

If you go to Olive Garden for Italian "cuisine" then you're in the wrong place, my friend.

They have good pasta and salad at fair prices. I eat there about once a year.

i had similar experience at friday's.

a group of 11 were dining there on NYE around 9pm and the restaurant wasn't packed. we waited for good 15 minutes before a waitress began to notice us that we were sitting for long period of time. she asked if we have ordered our food before and was surprised that no one came to them.

she spoke with the manager and the manager came to us to apologize. he looked for the waitress who was supposed to take care of our table and took her uh...money to cover our tab. :Q

I have always had hit-or-miss experiences at the Olive Garden. Once I ordered a soda telling the waiter "Coke or Pepsi" to which my other half and eldest son said "I'll have the same" and my youngest son said "Dr. Pepper". He delivered us 3 Dr. Pepper's and 1 Coke - giving the Coke to my youngest and the rest of us got Dr. Peppers. Still don't understand how he got my "Coke or Pepsi" to mean Dr. Pepper and the Dr. Pepper to be Coke! My roommate loves their food - which I admit can be good if ordering the correct items.

I've always had a great experience at the Olive Garden near me and the food is very tasty, maybe I just have a good one. Or maybe a lot of the posters in here are some crazed food elite or something.

I miss the Olive Garden in FL :(

There's not one around me here in TN that's less than 1.5 hours away. I'm not driving 3 hours for a meal

realizing olive garden is mostly crap food does not take a food elitist by any stretch of the imagination.
