Depends. If I were already dressed (i.e. had my wallet in my pocket), I'd grab my back pack, since it has my laptop in it. All of my critical documents and files are stored redundantly including off-site, so there's not a lot I'd have to worry about losing as far as that goes. I think my laptop would be the most important to me, just so that I could continue to have a computer to use after losing everything else.

My computer if I had time. If not then I'd just get my ass out. There isn't anything important in my apartment other than my computer. And it's only important because of the data that's on it. However anything that's really important I have backed up on DVDs which are at my parents house.

4 years ago a fire did break out in my house. First things I grabbed were my new video camera I just bought like the week before and cellphone. Then I ran out to the garage and pulled out the cars. The fire was in the attic over a bathroom near the garage. I wasn't that worried about my PC because it was on the lower level and all our pictures & stuff were on the other side of the house. After I got the cars out, went back in, grabbed a large fire extinguisher, ran back to the gargage, grabbed a ladder and jumped on the roof. Lightning hit the roof and there was about a 2 ft hole with the attic burning through. Emptied out the fire extinguisher, got back down and was heading for the garden hose when the fire dept finally showed up.
