A final check on my system before purchase...

Hey all. I just wanted to know if everything I have listed here is compatible and what not. This list is what I came up with according to my budget. I can't really go with any more expensive parts because of the budget , but I do want to know if I have something grossly incompatible. Thanks ahead of time.

AMD 64 3500+ Venice Socket 939
BFG 6800 GT
Epox 9NPA+ Ultra
Patriot 1GB (2x512) DDR 400 XBLK
NEC Black 3540A 16x DVDR
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB SATA
Samsung 730B 17" LCD
Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05
Antec Smartpower 2.0 500W

Also, I won't be OCing anything. Just running stock speeds and I think this system will give good performance.

Hmm maybe I had misread a review, but I saw an anandtech article that said the Patriot was good. I don't plan on OCing so what would give the best performance at that level for the patriot price or cheaper?

Is that 6800GT pci-express? You will need it to be for that motherboard. I'm sure that you have looked in to this already, but just trying to help. Also, saving some money by going with Corsair or OCZ value ram isn't a bad idea, the performance difference isn't noticeable and the extra money can be spent on a more important piece of the system.

If you don't plan on o/cing, get valueram lol.
or 2 GB of valueram.
No need for tight timings if its going to cost twice as much.

Ok, so I lined up 1 gig of corsair value ram 🙂 . To answer bcoupland, yes it is PCIe and the motherboard supports it 😀 . Thanks for the opinions and help all.

What you have picked are very good, especially your patriot ram. It is best available in TCCD and neweggs sells them for $158- pay $extera $50 and buy that patriot XBLK because down the line you will regret buying value rams specially corsair. Dont buy OCZ or Corsair or mushkin because they have mostly changed to inferior chips. OCZ, new rev 2 is TCC5 and need lots of volt for overclocking and lesser quality than their origional TCCD ram. what ever you buy make sure it is TCCD (not even TCC5 even if it is samsung)
Patriot is the way to go.
PS: those who directed you to corsair, OCZ, Mushkin are most probably paid to roam around here and other websites to lure you and newbies. Be careful.
after a while familiar to here and Overclocker's forum you will see my point.
