Disclaimer: I have heard these reports as I recall; I have not confirmed them.

"American Crossroads" is the generically-named business Karl Rove runs. It's a main money funneler for Republicans this election, giving three times as much as the Republican Party.

It has tens of millions donated; 91% of its funding comes from three Texas billionares.

The Democratic Party had a record setting fundraising period; 97% of the donations were $200 or less.

These donating groups have given seven times as much to Republicans as to Democrats.

Anonymous donors have donated a third of the funds given to Repblicans.

Don't for get the Chamber of Commerce which is suspected of using foreign money from China, India, etc. for republicans.

Problem is it can't be proved since we have to take their word on it.

I see no way to stop this other than a Constitutional revolution where the people take back government from the rich, corporations, and other special interests.

Don't be foolish Moonie, its activist Judges like Scalia who have ruled the Money is free speech. So step one is to now wait for the SCOTUS to reverse that ruling and then money in campaigns can be regulated with common sense laws.

No constitutional revolution needed.

but you still felt like throwing them around because they supposedly show some sort of "liberals are for the peoples"

In the case of the Chamber of Commerce, they run attack ads against dems. It CAN be proven that they solicit foreign money, but they claim it is not used for ads.

Since they are not required by law to prove this, we have to take their word on it.

Since when has a party (either side) been honest?

MY party is honest, forthright, and will lead the country to glory.

YOUR party are lying thieves, and will lead the country to ruin.

As much as you'd like to paint them differently, those groups are not made up of foreigners like the Saudi's, Chinese, UAE, etc.

Just goes to show if you can't get votes by being honest and forthright, you can always buy them with dirty money.

But I'm not pissed at the SC for selling out to the rich, I'm just amazed at all those idiots that buy into the lies the neocons have inundated them with. Who the hell in their right minds would believe anything that those profiteering corporate-owned shills like Limbaugh, O'Rielly, Hannity, Beck and Coulter incessantly lie about.

It's simply confounding that millions of folks would vote against their own interests based upon a pack of blatant lies that promote a PROVEN FAILED ideology. Lies that are paid for by those that gleefully exploit the masses for fun and profit and give nothing benefical to the Nation in return.

http://www.opensecrets.org/overview/DonorDemographics.php

One thing to note from this is that as the dollar amounts per donation go up, the ratio skews heavily toward Democrat contributions.

http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php?type=L

Of the top 100 donors, the majority lean heavily Democratic.

http://www.opensecrets.org/527s/index.php

Of 527 organization receipts and expenditures, Dems have the Republicans beat every year, going back to 2004, in both receipts and expenditures, with the majority of contributions coming from unions.

American Crossroads 527

http://www.opensecrets.org/527s/527cmtedetail.php?ein=272141277&cycle=2010

Raised: Less than $7 million. Spent: about $1 million.

American Crossroads PAC

http://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/lookup2.php?strID=C00487363

Raised: Less than $8 million. Spent, about $800,000.

Foreign-connected PACs

http://www.opensecrets.org/pacs/foreign.php

Of the top 36 in terms of $$$ donated, all but 9 give more to Democrats.

Want to keep going, or are you going to throw another tantrum?

No, that's a lie, as usual. You're projecting your own flaws. It's because they're something that appears true, and from solid enough sources to discuss.

I'd be thrilled if the information was wrong, and our democracy was not as corrupted as the information shows.

You have cause and effect backwards. You're like someone who claims that a person who points out smoking is dangerous only does it because they hate tobacco firms.

Unions probably broke it down to forced $200 donation per union member :p

See, Unions are perfect like roses, while corporations are smelly doo-doo heads

Politico reported in September that American Crossroads had raised $32.5 million of its $52 million planned for this election.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0910/42433.html

Another report placed it the fourth largest donor group after three party organizations, Republicans' and Democrats' committees for the Senate and House.

It has two groups, one reporting its donors and the other not.

Right, because unions are like Texas billionaires, completely unrepresentative of the American people and with conflicting interests... ??

Are you saying that union leadership is representative of American people, with no conflicting interests? I'll LOL to that ;)
