Ok, first of all these all pertain to the CPU SoftMenu III. The CPU fsb plus (mhz). What exactly does this do. Make my memory clock higher without making the fsb higher? Can I expect any performance increase by using this?

DRAM Clock has the option to be hostclk or hostclk + pciclk. How will this effect my memory. I am guessing using the option host + pci will make it fast. Does this increaes the fsb or just the memory speed?

CPU Drive Strength - There are a few settings for this. Mine is currently at 2. What should it be at and what does it to exactly?

thanks

Going by memory ...

"CPU fsb plus" and "FSB/PCI Clock" pretty much do the same thing, they both overclock by raising the bus speed.

"DRAM clock" hostclk = 100mhz memory speed whereas hostclk + pciclk = 133mhz memory - or more accurate to say the base 'host clock + the PCI clock' which on a KT7 is 100mhz bus speed plus 33mhz PCI bus speed. Obviously if you overclock the bus using the above "CPU fsb plus" and/or "FSB/PCI Clock" you're boosting the mem speed as well.

"CPU Drive Strength" = taken from http://www.adriansrojakpot.com/Speed_Demonz/BIOS_Guide/BIOS_Guide_02g.htm ...
The CPU Drive Strength determines the signal strength of the data transfer from the chipset to the CPU. The higher the value, the stronger the signal. Due to the nature of this BIOS option, it's possible to use it as an aid in overclocking the CPU. Your CPU may not overclock as well as you wanted it to. But by raising the CPU Drive Strength, it is possible to improve its stability at overclocked speeds. So, try values of 2 or 3 if your CPU just won't go the extra mile.

However, this is not a surefire way of overclocking the CPU. In addition, increasing the CPU Drive Strength will not improve its performance.

Hope this helps!

I should add a plug for the KT7 FAQ It will answer just about any question you have w/ the KT7/KT7A
