i am actually not quite sure. But I THINK that they will beat a raptor.
A raptor has a huge random write advantage over regular drives. And SSDs in turn have the same. But this is the one time where read speeds matter. And if I am not mistaken, sequential reads specifically. Heh, And after all this time saying that its random writes that really matter

Don't quote me on this though. Texture pop-in never bothered me enough to spend money mitigating it, or to even spend time figuring out ways to combat it.
