A few questions about Lian-Li cases

- Do they implement a tool-less/screw-less design?

- Are they Pentium 4 compatible?

- How much do they weigh (more specifically the PC-60)

Madcowz,

I just received my Lian-LI PC 68 case today. So its fitting I answer your questions.

1. It's completely screwless. No tools required. Even says so on the packing.
2. They are indeed Pentium 4 compatible. So long as your PS is compatible as well.
3. According to UPS my package weighed 21.1 lbs. That includes my new Enermax 350W PS. Figure the PC-60 to weigh very similiarly.

I bought mine from http://www.mpcparts.com for $166 and $50 for the PS. Even though I've only had it for one day it's well worth the purchase. I am very impressed with the quality of the case.

I have the PC-65. I love mine. I've had it for about 2 months and it is by far the nicest case I have ever owned. Tooless and painless to put together and change things later. I have switched mobo's and cpu's. The HD bay has two thumb screws and its out. I don't think you would be sorry getting one.

I've had a PC60USB for a couple of months and am very happy with it.

It does indeed label itself as tool-less (but not screw-less) design but I find this misleading. Screws are supplied so you do need a screwdriver (which is a tool, obviously) to screw the motherboard and drives down and to fasten the PCI/AGP cards (I guess you could use thumbscrews here but none are supplied as standard for this purpose).

Its an excellent case though and I recommend it!

My PC10 has thumbscrews for the PCI/AGP cards. Of course, all cases require screws to connect drives to either cages or rails.

Sort of OT: I'm just about ready to buy the PC7USB. Who really needs a MB tray anyway. I'm kind of stuck on picking a PS to go with it. I'm probably going to be shopping at Directron.com (I can stop in and pickup my order) and was considering either the Antec or Enermax power supplies for my Athalon XP 1700. I just don't know what I really need. The task isn't made any easier by Enermax's models. FOUR different 350W models. HELP! 😛 I need some advice.

D.

As a proud owner of a PC-65, I'd have to say that if you are serious about getting a top quality case, than Lian Li is your choice.

1. Completely tool-less. Even the PSU mount comes out with 2 thumbscrews. 🙂

2. Yup

3. Aluminum is very light. I just boxed up my Tornado 1000 last night and I couldn't believe the difference in empty case weight between the 2. The PC-65 was much lighter.
