Kidding me? It's one of the oldest and most respected names in the camera business.

IMO, the big SLR camera names are Canon (my preference), Nikon, Pentax....with others like Sigma, Minolta and Olympus at a distant following (not in terms of quality, just name recognition).

I concur. They used to be neck to neck with Zeiss back in the 60s-70s!!
But then they were late into the digital market. Their flagship dSLR isn't on the same level as their competitors. Thus they lost some of that brand recognition in the new digital age.
