Im having a few problems with a pair of creative blaster modems so im really considering a switch to a more expensive( and for no good reason other than they work better)modems.
First problem i had was when using the said modem, it continues to say that there is no dial-tone detected(yeah, still on dial-up:|). The phone is free and windows phone dialer works as it is; just that the modem says there is no dial tone. I had throughly tested the modem before if it can connect and it did. Just that the modem started acting weird after a few weeks. I could not resolve the issue so i ended up changing the modem to an OEM USR and its working fine as it is. BTW the OS in use is WinME. One strange thing though was the modem was working fine on my home PC(Tbird-AK31)...Go figure
Second problem is with the same model blaster modem. Everytime the user tries to connect(yes hes also still using dial-up
), it makes the PC reboot. Ive tried repositioning the modem in all slots and still the same result. As of yet still no solution for this one.
One thing i forgot to mention, both motherboards were based on the 815ep chipset(Asus CUSL-c and an Intel oem board). Are there any issues with this?
I would really appreciate all help you can give me on this one. Thanks!
