A FEW Hauppauge 500 MCE's are available now at MWAVE. They do not appear in the regular listing of TV TUNER CARDS, but if you do a search for "Hauppauge 500 MCE" It will show up for $137.62 and in stock. This is the best price I have ever seen for this card. I called and asked if they were really available and was told that they had 11 in stock, late yesterday. I ordered one and it shipped and have tracking #. They are back ordered at everywhere I've looked with no real ETA. Works only with XP MCE, naturally.

Amazon has the PVR-500 for $133.94 with free shipping and shows they ship in 24 hours so they should be in stock.

I grabbed one last week when mwave had stock, great card 🙂

I know that with this card you can watch one show & record another but you CAN record two different shows @ the same time?

tia 🙂

Yep, they just changed it. Last week it was $170ish (I was shopping around then and was shocked by their price)

I suppose prices for this card are coming down in general 🙂

Nice deal. I was in for two 150MCE cards at Amazon which never shipped after 3 weeks waiting. Cancelled order. I think I'll just go with pcalchemy and the 500MCE version instead of getting the two 150MCE.

According to the description on the pcalchemy site it's Widows XP compatible?

pcalchemy

Windows®XP, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

VGA card (PCI or AGP) which supports video overlay (NVidia, S3, ATI, etc.)

I believe it is XP compatible it just doesn't include the remote control. the same is true of the other Hauppauge WINTV PVR MCEs.
