A few good deals at Radio Shack.

FYI you can online PM the 4gb sandisk at staples to get it down to 26.xx shipped, no rebate. Plus sandisk has a 10% rebate to get another 8 bucks back (80 bucks from staples will show up on your bill if you do it online, even though you only paid 26), making a total of about 14.xx after rebate.
 
Damn, even at $30, that flash drive is tempting. My otherwise choice was the 2GB one from Buy for $20.

Unfortunately the Radioshack here closed down, and the nearest one is too far as far as gas vs what I'd save. We also don't have a Staples. You are saying that I could do it all online, Cattlegod?

Edit: Also, does anyone know if this 4gb and the readyboost edition actually have any differences at all? Will readyboost performance be decent enough with the offered drive?
 
Staples told me (online chat) that they'd only do 36 bucks because of some bogus 16 dollar overnight delivery charge @ radioshack. I was just trying to figure it out, so I didn't know how to properly phrase the request I guess.

....So I am not absolutely sure but I think what they are telling me is that since Staples only offers the flash drive with 1 business day delivery, they are adding to the price of the RadioShack offer the equivalent delivery charge which is $16.00. So in the eyes of Staples, the total price of the RadioShack deal is $46.

110% PriceMatch: $80-$46= $34

$34*10%= $3.40

$46-$3.40= Not Worth Doing

nt guys, If someone could check my math.., I don't have much experience with these dealy things.

Laptops with limited ram and 4200rpm hard drives yes but pretty much any desktop very little to none.
 
I picked this up the last time it was $30 at Radio Shack. This version will not work with Readyboost unless you uninstall the U3 Software. I hated that U3 crap so I was happy to get rid of it. You can find an uninstall program on the U3 website.
 
Bah, that 1 day delivery thing kills it.

I would've bought it for $30 shipped... any rebate or 110% PM thing is bonus.

Thanks for the link anyway Albaby... it might come in handy in the future (I've never done any PMs, and in general without any stores besides Walmart where I live, it is tough to get these deals).

Okay, so I've got this right-- the RB version of this drive doesn't have much different about it, unless you've got a really slow Vista installation to begin with? But there is an actual difference? Because sometimes companies just rebrand when a buzzword comes along. Remember all the y2k compliant ps/2 keyboards? ::eyeroll::

shipping shouldn't be included in the pricematch, you can go to the store and pick it up.
Just do an online chat with a CSR, takes about 5 minutes, my order was credited 58.xx with free shipping because I placed the order first, then they credit my card.

This version comes with the U3 Software pre-installed. The U3 Software is not compatible with ReadyBoost. If you want to use this drive with ReadyBoost, you simply need to uninstall the U3 Software. The newer version that says it's "ReadyBoost" compatible is the exact same drive except it doesn't have the crappy U3 Software pre-installed.
 
Does anyone have a link to the 10% sandisk rebate? I found a link to an email that was sent out in summer of 2006, but nothing recent. Oddly enough, that old form did not state an expiration date for the rebate offer itself, so maybe that's the rebate that was referred to earlier?
