A Facebook movie? Really? Really?

Why not, they made a movie about how eating fast food all the time will cause you to gain weight.

This will be the gayest movie ever, I can't wait for the day the next internet fad site come alone and FB crashes and burns. So far every big social network site from before FB has either totally died, or is on life support. FB your days are numbered.

Agreed, but consider that everyone form those other social sites migrated to Facebook, and that most FB users have no care about their own privacy, FB's leaks, the groups phishing their personal information, or FB's selling of their personal data, do you really expect people to all jump ship?

Having said that, I deleted my FB account a few weeks ago.

While all that is true, something else will come along. People get bored, and FB's proof that a social networking site doesn't have to be better than the others to succeed. In fact they can be worse and still catch on. I'd bet all the money I have in the bank that FB will fall, and the site that replaces it might be even worse - if that's even possible.

Saw the trailer for this before Inception last weekend. It looks to me like them trying to overly dramaticize (is that a word) the whole Facebook development, much more so than how it actually occurred. Like somehow implying that the dude who created Facebook should be mentioned in the same sentence as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. I mean what the hell, Facebook wasn't even an original idea, as far as I can remember that Friendster site started the whole thing. I just hate any form of media (mainly televised and film) that tries to create drama where there is non. TMZ, Jerry Springer, Orange County Choppers, any daytime soap opera, etc. If this movie is the way it's portrayed in the trailer, I'd put it at the same level of entertainment as those shows.

I liked the star of this in Zombieland. Now i've lost all respect for him.

I saw the trailer for this in front of The Other Guys, and I wondered if they'd try to push it as a sort of new age The Pirates of Silicon Valley (a movie about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs). It didn't look terribly interesting and it only made me want to go listen to Radiohead's Creep.

It's based on Ben Mezrich's book "The Accidental Billionaires" which kicked total ass... He's also a writer on the movie. (Also has a few of his other books in the works for films... Can't wait for Rigged)

Do yourself a favor and read it. The birth of FB is actually one of the more interesting phenomena of the internet. I thought the story was fascinating. I can't wait to see this movie.

I haven't read the book this was based on but did hear about it on the radio (Jim Rome's show) and it sounds like it might be a pretty good book. I will probably see the movie at some point based on how good the book sounded.

I havent seen the previews

But my guess it will be a chick flick and will play out somthing like some lame love movie where the people meet over fb.

I use fb, is quite good for organising group events with mates.

Zukenberg - "founder" of FB is semi retarded crook who somehow (?) managed to cheat the entire system and screw everybody in the process.
The point of the movie is to illustrate this point.
Over the top? - probably, but it makes for a good movie. Nothing wrong with that. The book and movie were never meant to be an official biography...

Ummm... no. As I said two posts above it's based on a Ben Mezrich book about the creation of FB.

It's actually very interesting. Even if you hate FB in general, the origins of its creation and how to came to be as big as it is is very interesting.

It's a great story.

You're not smart. It's not even close to that.

I did say it was a guess you piss weak piece of dog crap

wahh wahh i am too scared to go on a date with a girl.

youre gonna die a virgin

You suck at making guesses. I guess you're dumb.

It never was a date. 😛

Nah, I doubt that. IF THE GUY ON "SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE" CAN GET LAID BY A 10 THEN SO CAN I!

The trailer showed before inception and the crowd was like "Wtf why would I watch that shit". But im willing to bet there will be a number of people who do watch it -_-
