Somehow my Winamp took over playing videos. How do I go back to "global" properties or whatever it's called and set Media Player for video?

shift-right click on a movie file, open with and mark "always open with"...

You can also go to the Tools, Folder Options menu in Explorer, and the File Types tab will allow you to reset file types to the Windows default. Also, you can go into WinAmp and disable its control over those file types, then go into the options in media player and specify that it should register those file types to itself.
