I had to google those 😱

Sounds good, first ones are on me 😉

In honor of not the gods, but rather His Dudelyness, I am enjoying a Caucasian right now. Except just a splash of milk, and substituting regular Kahlua for the Kahlua Especial, 70 proof. 🙂

Wow, a James Bond wannbe who isn't ashamed of it? I admire your courage, most would be afraid the rest of us would be laughing. We are.

Sadly, slavishness to all things Bondian, you're not really following Bond at all. Lillet has changed their recipe since the days of Bond, it was a bitter, mans drink back then, now it's a fruity, sissy drink. So don't order one in Monte Carlo and expect to impress the wealthy Contessas, they'll laugh too.

If you want a martini, order a martini. 4 to 1 or better yet, 6 to 1, gin and dry vermouth with an olive. No vodka, no olive juice, no other ingredients. If you add a fruity liqueur to it you might as well be drinking an Appletini.

This, and only this, is acceptable when it comes to a Martini.

ditch the milk, and replace with Half&Half. shake that bitch up and pour.

Hmmmmm

I haven't aquired the taste for gin yet, but I really like vermouth. I'll sometimes drink a small glass of straight vermouth; red or white. Is that bad? 😉

i HAD a taste for gin, but now it just tastes like pine needles 🙁 then again i'm a bourbon drinker at heart

drinking vermouth straight isn't bad, it is technically wine after all

...Dry martini, jigger of gin,
Oh what a spell you've got me in. Oh my,
Baby do I feel higher than a kite can fly
Give me lovin' and baby, I feel high.

People won't believe me,
They think that I'm just braggin'
But I could feel the way I do
And still be on the wagon.

All I need is one of your smiles
Sunshine of your eyes oh me oh my....

"and a green olive (or two if you're greedy) ="

In my drinking days we considered the olive to be a complete separate food group🙂

original martinis were 2:1 sweet vermouth to gin, had bitters (technically it's not a cocktail if it doesn't have bitters, rather it's a sling), and maraschino liqueur. with a twist. gin was stronger back then so you might go 1:1 or 2:1 gin:vermouth.

the drink you described is for alcoholic frat boys.

if you want a real man's cocktail, have a manhattan.
