A Difficult Math

Finally I have figured out an answer which use Math only to solve the problem.
Does anyone wish to final guess the answer, or just post the answer out?

Anyway, here's the hint:
- think about mean & common factors!!
They are the keys to the answer.

PS: This solution is much simply than what Vich suggests!

12 ((12 + 26) / 2 + 2 = 21) 26

16 ((16 + 36) / 2 + 2 x 2 = 30) 36

20 ((20 + 48) / 2 + 2 x 2 = 38) 48

24 ((24 + 60) / 2 + 2 x 2 x 3 = 54) 60

28 ((28 + 84) / 2 + 2 x 2 x 7 = 84) 84

The italic numbers are the common factors of the left and right numbers.

So the trick is to randomly multiply by the fudge factor number [3,7] so that it all works out? Brilliant! You could work for the government proving that global warming doesn't exist!

gcf is not atypical function used in solving systems of linear equations...
