Texmaster, If you hadn't been a member for a frekkin day then you could understand this...I have seen enough threads, flame wars, etc...I can understand some of the point of views from a tech stance, but when an overwheming majority of the buying public only looks at speed ratings in their purchase (beacuse they equate higher mhz to higher performance) facilitated by Intel's marketing scheme I think that requires us to look at it...Cause joe average is when he is buying...Lets give him a comparison so he can make an informed purchase.

Don't tell me they didn't do it on purpose....Would you think they would sacrifice such a huge piece of the fpu speed which they know, and obviously the benchmarks show is very important in most applications if it didn't able them to just bump of the mhz to claim market superiority? SSE2 optimization??? I don't think it is going to make that much of difference. If dual 1.2mp's are beating dual 1.7 p4's soundly know they could be double the percentage points ahead if there were 1.7mp's...software is not going to make that much of a difference. How many rounds of optimizations???, How many years?? By then amd will have incorporated sse2 in their chips an the advantage do to optimization will be near null and void.

I agree this guy sander is an intel zealot, just as well as Inquest has an amd zealot...Neither one looks at benchmarks and reviews they just read manuf specs and claim them gospel...

<< Sander Sassen, Intel Hired Assasin

Looks like the site's own readers have handed this guy a bone to chew on.

Too bad he said 1.4GHz MP instead of the actual 1.2

Didn't even realize that...'course now I can't go back and read it because that post no longer exists.

But Mr. Sassen has an official reply regarding the situation here. Of course, he is silenced once again by follow-up posts. It's time for him to throw up the white flag and admit he pulled the article from deep inside his hollow a$$;)

There is no convincing a zealot. They'll harp on something and when that is fixed, they'll harp on something else. Even if you fix/solve every issue/weakness, they'll find something, real or imagined, to harp about.

I've seen some pretty lame zealots. At Tom's forum, there were some people who insisted that a certain test be used to ascertain the performance/stability of a well known piece of hardware. So, the users of this hardware ran the test, passed, and even beat the other supposedly(to the zealots) superior hardware. The zealots response? Run this next test! That lame procedure went on for months until the zealots no longer had anymore "tests". Then began the name calling, results faking accusations, and general ugliness. Zealots are a pain in the a**!
