Numerous pols are calling it now on Twitter...Beshear is currently up by 30k votes and nearly 3 percentage points with 88% precincts reporting.

He won a rural county that voted for Trump by 45 points in 2016. Ouch.

Maybe he’ll appoint a new AG who’ll look into the Russian Rusal plant that Mitch built.
 
I heard McConnell is down to something like 15% approval rating. That seems insanely low for any incumbent ever.
 
That would be amazing if Beshear wins. I'm hoping Hood (D) can win the governorship tonight here in Mississippi but I'm doubtful.
 
Yeah it's hard to say right now. As of one minute ago, the D was up by 2.25% with 89% reporting. It's going to depend on the partisan lean of the unreported counties.

The polls were a dead heat going in.
 
Some of the experienced election people on Twitter don’t think Bevin can pull it out based on what’s left.

Granted he is rather unpopular it’s clear that Trump’s ability to pull GOP politicians over the line is limited at best. Not really welcome news for vulnerable GOP senators up in 20 who face sinking approval figures.

In other news it looks like the Democrats have probably taken control of the VA legislature.

From my understanding based on the remaining outstanding counties the Republican can’t make up enough ground so barring some sort of recount it’s over.
 
Looks like it’s official now? AP is calling it for Beshear.


No auto recount in KY but a contestant can request one at any point. I’d expect Bevin to ask for one.

10,000 votes or whatever would be an exceptional amount to make up in a recount, the difference is usually in the low hundreds.
