A dead CPU

I found this old Celeron 478 pin and a motherboard outside, I tried it out and it turns out the CPU is dead because I tried it on a working motherboard and it won't work but other CPU do work, it doesn't work on any motherboard, but it looks ok, no bent pins.

What could have killed the CPU?

Are you sure that motherboard supported that CPU?

Yes, it is confirmed, the CPU is dead, it's a 1700Mhz Celeron socket 478
