Everybody sing: "And the circle, will be unbroken...."

God forbid we pay taxes to keep law enforcement, the military, and everything else going. Maybe you should move to Iraq where they have no taxes.

Again, you need new material. This whole "new member recruited by [insert group here]" and "you're just a banned member/neocon posting under an alias" is so old it's growing mold.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not awe'ed by your 28k post count.

I do apologize though for upsetting you. I felt my post were just off the cuff comments that would have garnered a smirk at best from you.

Oh don't worry, it generated a huge smirk... just not for the reasons you intended. But either way, I appreciate the gesture 😉 .

If I had known it was going to extract such a reaction that would take away from the discussion of the topic I would have refrained from making them.

LOL "extract such a reaction"? Don't flatter yourself, Haus 😉 . Most people on here react the same way when someone takes a quote from them, adds/changes a word, and calls it a "joke". That reaction is usually "great, a lame troll thinks he's being clever".

This forum needs a flopping red herring emoticon.

...and since we're shamelessly plugging parties here...

It's old material, but I'll follow Red Dawn's lead and recycle:

And it's just as lame and disingenuous this time as it was the last 20 times. If it were an accurate analogy, you would point out that the rich guy is eating filet and lobster at a private table with a spectacular view and a staff of dedicated waiters, while the poor guys are foraging for scraps in the alley. The wealthy pay so much more because they receive so much greater benefit. They more than get their money's worth.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.
Joe?s employer pays these standards because Joe?s employer doesn?t want his employees to call the union.

Then Joe cries when his job is gone because his $25/hour job to attach screws to a washing machine cannot complete with someone making $2/day in Mexico. And his unemployment does not go as far because he shops at a grocery store that had a labor union and the cashiers make $17/hour.

Look, this is just cheap liberal propaganda... hell, it barely even passes for that.
Really? What about it is inaccurate? How 'bout you take a break from your incessant thread-crapping this morning and contribute some meaningful opinions for a change?

Chess,

That is EXACTLY how my own Joe Republican finally woke up... It took a while, but once he realized all the things he has worked hard for are in danger of being taken away from the party he THOUGHT was the one with more integrity.

Sometimes, a mirror has to be held up. You know what it means when they don't see a reflection. 😉

But... but... that's not the way it works! When you get older and have more money you become more conservative!

Isla:

Cute! I'm sure anyone married to you is going to get converted...one way or the other. 🙂

To the others, if you think none of it is true, please tell me why. The problem is you know it's all true and you hate it because you suck down these bennies like cheap cough drops. 🙂

LOL! Well, my husband started out as Alex P. Keaton and by the time he turned 35, he was sick of himself. 🙂

I also have a sister who is 40, makes over 300K a year, and has NO problem with being taxed on it to benefit the country as a whole.

And Chess, thanks. 🙂 I'm not sure I did anything other than be very patient. One of the reasons I chose him is because I knew he was a smart man to begin with, and eventually he figured out the important things for himself. 😉
