My one grandpa worked at Caterpillar, he was deemed important enough to keep him out of the war. My other is very tight lipped about his service in the Pacific. The only time I have ever heard him curse (he is a devout Catholic) was when MacArthur was featured on TV. My grandpa HATED that man, felt he caused a lot of deaths for no gain.

Many enlisted hated their upper level COs because of actions.

Some people did not have the full picture - other COs took the easy way out.

My father was at the Bulge as a sniper for the 101.
The Germans had already overrun and then passed his unit by but his CO surrendered to the rear guard.
Only story he told me about actual combat and he was bitter about it.

None of those. Japan attacked the USA. The USA retaliated.
/story.

That is the story, but it doesn't explain your evil joy in the idea of the deaths of thousands and thousands of people.

Nor does it explain your still lingering hate of people of Asian descent, despite any Asian today having nothing to do with the events of 1941. You are just like the people in the picture. A mean spirited, xenophobic asshole.

Again, which one of http://urlybits.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Facebook-Japan-Tsunami-2.jpg is you?

Some people have been exposed to other cultures. At times, if that culture has attempted to kill them; they get a little hostile.

You apparently are to young to remember/realize such. 🙁

Obviously you don't understand what culture is, and haven't been truly exposed to any but the American culture of bigotry. I have been exposed to other cultures, and I see the beauty of the many different cultures the world provides.

All the people in the image I linked are too young to have been at an event that happened over 60 years ago. Any hate they have is misplaced, and wrongly seeded.

Apparently you are too ingrained in hate to realize that it is people like you that stop the world from advancing into a more peaceful state. The events of the past do not warrant hating innocents today. The next time you sneer at a Chinese kid tripping at his shoelaces and think "that's what they get for pearl harbor!", why don't you take a step back and realize what kind of feelings you are bringing into the world.

(yes, I said Chinese on purpose)

December 7, 1941 - the day Adolf Hitler said "Oh, fuck me."

(and yes, I recognize Hitler was supposedly happy about the attack, but getting the US involved in the war was not exactly a great idea as it turned out.)

Boy are you walking backward.😛

I was in Asia before you were hatched.
Wife is Asian.
Son-In_laws are not Caucasian.

I have hatred only for groups of people (not individuals) that attempt to kill me because of who I am.

Out of curiosity, how many times has someone tried to actually kill you because of who you are, even if you do not know them.

Boomer - How about you and I get together with this idiot, hold hands and sing Kum-by-ya with him so we can feel his undying love? Maybe get salvation? :hmm:

even if it was necessary or the best option, it's not something that we should get enjoyment out of...
I had the ability to visit the nagasaki atomic bomb museum, followed by visiting the pearl harbor museum. both very brutal, and definitely shouldn't be getting "enjoyment" out of it. boomers post is ridiculous.

but boomer will give a pass to his government superiors that essentially executed his fellow men in uniform:

As Stimson confided to his diary after a meeting of the war cabinet on November 25, “The question was how we should maneuver them [the Japanese] into firing the first shot without allowing too much danger to ourselves.” After the attack, Stimson confessed that “my first feeling was of relief ... that a crisis had come in a way which would unite all our people.

whew. no warnings given to commanders at pearl harbor. then a sigh of "relief" after their ships were sunk and so many americans dead in the water. :awe:

Did Stimson ever state that they were trying to get the Japanese to attack at Pearl? He was hoping for an incident over in the Philippines or Indochina area. That is where the US forces were aligned up against the Japanese in a tense situation

"Ten days before the attack on Pearl Harbor", Henry L. Stimson, United States Secretary of War at the time "entered in his diary the famous and much-argued statement - that he had met with President Roosevelt to discuss the evidence of impending hostilities with Japan, and the question was 'how we should maneuver them [the Japanese] into the position of firing the first shot without allowing too much danger to ourselves.'"[64] However Stimson, in reviewing his diary after the war, recalled that the commanders at Pearl Harbor had been warned of the possibility of attack, and that the poor state of readiness that the attack had revealed was a surprise to him:
[Yet] General Short had been told the two essential facts: 1) a war with Japan is threatening, 2) hostile action by Japan is possible at any moment. Given these two facts, both of which were stated without equivocation in the message of Nov. 27, the outpost commander should be on the alert to make his fight. . . . To cluster his airplanes in such groups and positions that in an emergency they could not take the air for several hours, and to keep his antiaircraft ammunition so stored that it could not be promptly and immediately available, and to use his best reconnaissance system, the radar, only for a very small fraction of the day and night, in my opinion betrayed a misconception of his real duty which was almost beyond belief. . . .[65]
Stimson omits to mention the "war warning" message expressly told Short not to alarm the civilian population and to be alert for sabotage, which was widely expected to be a precursor to attack.
Japan had been planning/training for the attack the previous months. attack was approved Nov 1. Fleet departed November 26 (25th US time) for the strike.

No historian has ever shown that the US government knew of and held back info that directly tied a strike against Pearl for a given date/time.

What has been shown is that there were tidbits of information floating around that should have increase an alert.

This is based though on 20/20 hindsight. The US was not at war at the time and to expect the Japanese to cross the Pacific when there were easier and closer targets was outside the strategic thinkers envelope

Similar on how there were leads for 9/11 that after the fact put together a potential scenario; yet there was no desired need to actually try to piece together something that was outrageous impractical

First, slightly off topic, let's point out you have repeatedly ducked Bolton's admission that the middle east wars were for oil, as pointed out to you in multiple threads. stealing / controlling oil for the country's own economic benefit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFbpKKOEnAE .

regarding pearl harbor: the main point isn't the fact that pearl harbor or any other location was struck first. the main point is that your military leaders were conspiring to sacrifice so many citizens in order gain support for a broader military conflict. a chickenshit / treasonous maneuver, and ultimate betrayal to so many honorable men in uniform. feel free to begin apologizing to their families, eh? yeah, your leaders got their "sigh of relief" indeed.

plenty of leads indeed, many of which have never been officially acknowledged, including able danger :awe: sorry anthony shaffer, your honorable military service to your country doesn't mean shit when you dared to threaten corruption and those who committed treason.

will eaglekeeper duck bolton's statements again? bet on it. 😎
