ilsonville, OR Fry's was a living nightmare.....the line snaked through the entire store.
Good patr: The Maxtor 80 Gig *MB cache drives, which I was told were OOS, but rebates available, were plentiful.
I took two and "slithered" to the registers, where I was informed "one drive per person...." I guess I looked pretty pitiful, as the young girl quickly recanted and rang both drives up, but at separate registers and under separate names, so memory, rebates and all are intact.
All in all, it wasn't all that bad. 😱

hehe i feel you guys who stood in that line today, it was horrible. I actually work as a HP rep so I had to be there, but i managed to pick up on the lcd monitor deal. I really don't know too much about it but it seemed to be a good deal so i jumped on it.
It was pretty funny tho, a fight almost broke out because one person supposedly cut in line (which i don't know the details off), but it was funny and all i could think of in my head was "holiday spirit" while a guy was yelling "no way your getting in front of me!!" just really funny how people can be such asses right after thanksgiving.
anyways, is this monitor worth keeping at all, or maybe even selling? Its the GEM flatpanel 15.1 inch, I already have a SONY E200 17 inch at home but i thought this would make having network games a lot easier. If anyone has any feedback or anything about this monitor i'd really appreciate it.
BTW, in the middle of this post i increased the refresh rate to 75 hertz and big diffrence!! 🙂

Well, I got pretty lucky. Frys Palo Alto was much better in terms of crowding than Fremont from what I hear. In any case, I planed my purchases very well and so As soon as I got in(was in line at 6:45am, got in at 7:00am) I grabbed FREE computer case, 6-in-1 reader, CDRW, modem, surge protector, and $49.99 hard drive and free ram and $19.99 CompactFlash and headed back for the checkout line, the whole shopping before checkout was no more than $15 minutes.... I saw people grabbing 2-3 hard drives and cdrws even though rebates were one per household....not nice.....
In any case, my wait to get to the checkout was like 10 minutes, then at the checkout it was like 30-40 minutes. THe cashier lady spoke very little english. She took a while to bring me the rebates and fortunately I decided to go through the rebates and see if she picked the right ones and naturally she brought a couple of wrong ones and forgot a couple of others, so I had to stand there and have her run back and forth to bring me the right rebates.... I was out of there by 8:00, went to Officemax in Redwood city where I scored a $19.99 printer and some more FAR stuff.
All in all, I spend about $400 and have about $300 in rebates coming....

To the poeple that got in on the Maxtor HD deal, did you guys send in both rebate forms to one address? the lady at Fry's told me to just send them in in one envelope. After looking at my copies, I notice that they go to different po boxes. Damn, I hope they don't deny the rebastes.
