A compression problem with my jeep

[UDT89]

Well i narrowed it down to a compression problem with my 89 wrangler. I each spark plug out and put my finger over the hole and wasnt feeling anything.

What do i do next? How do i determine what it is? What are the possibilities?

Im no mechanic but it sounds like you have some sort of gasket blown somewhere... any oil or other fluid leaks?

i think i got an oil leak for sure.......

but the last valvoline that changed my oil never put the cap back on and i blew oil all over the place........so im not sure

ok is it leaking from the top part of the engine or bottom?

If you have NO compression then it sounds like the valve timing might be way off....slipped timing belt/chaing or something related to the valve train.....if it won't start and turns over real fast compared to how it used to then the timing beltis broken.

i think its the top.....there is this thingee that stick out of the top......that is attached to a hose. Looks lose.

Either your doing something wrong or there is something major screwed with your engine. Even the most screwed up compression problem on a engine should give you atleast some pressure.

maybe it's the value. Can you start your engine. I have a 1990 mazda protege. Loosing compression. The car make a dat dat dat noice with the engine on.

lol.. I was going to say.. Even at 20lbs, you would have a hard time keeping your thumb over the hole.. and a reading of 20lbs would mean a seriously worn engine.
