It would look better if it had that white backround that the IPOD does and not that turquoise one...

Too bad its so expensive though! Maybe once they start selling well the price will drop? maybe not..

uh.. last I checked most mp3 players were about the size of the ipod. The creative nomad zen isn't that much bigger than the iPod.

From the best of my knowledge, everybody who's gotten an iPod alternative is always still looking up to the iPod. Whoever replaces the iPod will not only have to match it's design, but be cheaper, better built, smaller with a larger hard drive, and have as good of a sound output as the iPod.

If I wanted something that just would play mp3's I would have gone with something much cheaper. I spent $500 for a 20GB iPod for several other reasons~

I admit I haven't been following hdmp3 players too closely, but neither the zen nor any others that I know of have been the same size as the pod like this one.

The average ATOT loser believes that the iPod is the best mp3 player ever made, regardless of how overpriced it is.

that's because iriver hasn't come out with a hd player until now :)

iriver has traditionally had great sound output, so i wouldn't be surprised if the ihp-100 beat the ipod. they're well built, about the same size (i believe a little smaller than the new ipods actually), and have more features (fm radio anyone? lcd remote... ), and have a longer battery life (this is important). and iriver's user interface has always been pretty good.

i don't think it'll kill the ipod, mostly because of price and brand recognition, but i really doubt the ihp-100 owners will be looking up to the ipod. maybe if they were midgets...

If I was looking for a hard drive based mp3 player, I'd get the Iriver ihp100. I don't like the idea of carrying a harddrive based player, cause I'm pretty active and drop my player so many times. I don't need 10 gigs of songs so I'm happy with my iriver 256mb player, plus it's much easier to carry around.

This is my third iriver product and I never had a single complaint. They sure make some sweet mp3 players
