Mine did the same thing...They had a bad connector coming from the line to my house...then it did it again...the wire had been pinched 270 degrees when the put the siding on my house...no more problems...

It's amazing how many people actually hate us, but I guess you have to have your cable from someone, right?

Not the employees, just the management.

For what it's worth, I don't hate the company, the management, or anything else. I hate the service. And not even Comcast service in general; just Comcast internet. We've got them for our cable TV and it works just fine.

It's just that, after spending hours with tech support and having had two technicians come to my house, all since the 12th... I'm at the end of my rope. Verizon, here I come. Hurry up and give me FIOS!

There are other options I'm sure, and our upload speed is pretty slow, true. And there are so many contractors out there that we hire, that just plainly blow. They give us CT's a bad rep.

In addition, I think people are slowly driven insane by the "Unplug your modem -- Reboot your computer -- We'll send a modem or a tech when we can" trifecta.

I've had two techs out to my house already, and I reboot my modem like I'm getting paid for it. Comcast works for plenty of people in plenty of other places. I have yet to talk to a person in Maryland who hasn't had trouble.

Not like I know a statistically significant number of people, of course; it's just that I haven't had anyone who lives in my state tell me that their Comcast internet connection is good.

Comcast people tend to be a bunch of dumbasses. Given that, I live in Maryland and my service is pretty good *knock on wood*
My modem has rarely ever gone down.

And I hate to say this to our customers, but a lot of the time our CallCenter people promise things the customer will never get. I don't know why, it doesn't benefit them any. Some of them are just plain stupid.

I also wish that Comcast would start manufacturing their own modems, instead of getting them elsewhere. It would be a lot better to manufacture them to specifics, instead of having a modem (or even a cable box) with useless features. If you have a DVR, you probably noticed many unusable things on it (SmartCARD, some DVRs firewire is disabled, the USB ports on most, etc).

And about no one telling you their connection is good, well,.. I know we're not perfect and all, but I would much rather have a connection that goes down a few times a month, then dial-up all the time.

But in the end, there is A LOT about Comcast that needs to be fixed, and some people are just too lazy to fix it. And I don't understand it myself.
