A co-worker died today at work

I was going to post this in off-topic but I don't know anybody there...not politics, but I guess it is news.

Our lead PC & network support guy died today after going for a short walk on a local trail, it was a beautiful day out. He was laughing and goofing around with his co-workers, when he suddendly collapsed. His friends tried to revive him, as did the paramedics and the emergency room. We won't know for sure what he died of, but it likely was some unknown heart defect. I only knew him for a couple of short months, but I liked him a lot and was even hoping he could come work on my team, because he was so talented and hard-working.

He was engaged, very healthy as far as we knew, and only 22 years old. Today was my daughters 5th birthday also. Celebrating a birth and mourning a death on the same day.

Anyhow, one of those freak things that happens to the people that least deserve it. Everyone give your loved ones a special hug...

That is very sad, someone who has everything to gain, hasn't experienced life, and someone who contributes, is gone when there are so many bums and no good people out there that do nothing and harm society.

This has been a tough year for people that I know from work, starting with Christmas break, we've lost nearly a dozen three since Easter.

Wow Al, truly a bittersweet kinda day. I think it's a sign. A sign for you to try and enjoy every day you've got on this planet, 'cause you never know when it might come to an end . . .

🙁

Only the good die young. 🙁

I think it's an insult to the young man's death that you should offer up such a worthless platitude.

And RIP to that guy.

You know, I don't care when you constantly harass me and troll in my direction in other threads, but this is despicable. Die in a fire.

I agree the guy should not have dissed you, but damn man, "Die in a fire."? That should be against posting guidelines, IMO.

To realize the value of ten years: Ask a newly divorced couple.
To realize the value of four years: Ask a graduate.
To realize the value of one year: Ask a student who has failed a final exam.
To realize the value of nine months: Ask a mother who gave birth to a still born.
To realize the value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to Meet.
To realize the value of one minute: Ask a person who has missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one-second: Ask a person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics Time waits for no one.

Treasure every moment you have.

You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend: Lose one.

Do you ever stop with your BS? Can't just offer up condolensces...have to get your preaching in.

Are you assigned some sort of quota?
