How many people here actually read the part where it states that Civic runs in the low 13's with race fuel? True, the C5 had a really $hitty driver but it's not like a Civic DX with intake & exhaust beat a C5 - this guy has some $$ under the hood. (Course, you put the same $$ the Civic guy put into a Stang or LS1 and it would be running 10's/11's, but apparently everyone in this thread doesn't realize that this Civic is faster than your avg. Civic)

I think the point of that car thread wasn't so much what the 2 guys had under their hoods or how much money was spent but that the Civic called out the C5 and won. That's it. That Civic guy flat out said he was sick MD bragging and so he challenged him. MD can make excuses saying his tires were new etc.. but that's the nature of competition. I don't think that "Do-overs" are allowed in the street racing. ;)

Actually no one knows for sure how fast that civic run... It's likely he's covering up to challenge more corvette drivers for some quick cash...

He's avoiding every question anyone asks about his civic's performance...

On the other hand, lets look at the price differences here.

Cost of new Corvette: $45,000
Cost of new Civic: $14,000

Assuming the Civic guy dumped $10k into his car, who's still the winner, both literally, and financially? f

I'm going to say what NFS4 said: A Corvette is a Corvette - a Civic is just a Civic. You can mod the Civic out any and every which way but it'll never touch a Corvette

<< What an idiot to be drag racing a C5, or any vette that isnt preped for it. They have NEVER been built for it stock, the fact that it will still do a respectable 13 or so in the quarter is just a credit to it's overall ability. >>

Uhhhhh, ok, if you say so! That's a new one to me.

I guess some people just prefer style over substance.

Who cares what car who drives? The fact is, this Mitchell guy thought he bought himself an extension of his penis and got his ass handed to him on a platter. Maybe next time he won't mindlessly bash something without knowing the details first.
