i don't think it's about hating it, it's more of mocking the more ridiculous aspects of it, sort of like the daily show (at least from what I gather... i don't really read that that much).

Still I've got to ask.....why Christianity? There are countless ridiculous aspects to countless things, yet he chose Christianity when Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, and Atheism are just as good of targets if you're out merely to point out the ridiculous aspects of something. Heck, if the objective is to point out ridiculous things, the site wouldn't be focussed on one specific thing. It's obviously hatred or resentment or closet curiosity that compelled him.

Satire != hared.

That's funny, Ted Danson said the same thing after wearing "black face."

You know who never gets mocked? The guy who never has anything to say. Ironically, they're the ones usually doing the mocking. Let this guy make a site about what HE believes in instead of mocking what others believe......he'd come off much less cowardly. The article would have been mildly humorous on The Onion, but on that site it's stale.
The irony here is just delicious. :D

Mine was blocked due to "intolerance".

Well, that was all the page was about anyway.

I'm a Christian.

I thought it was funny.

As far as mocking all the rest of the religions and philosophies, he'll probably get around to that eventually, but it doesn't really fit within the context of the article. Satire isn't supposed to be politically correct. Or any other kind of correct.

Perhaps he has several sites, each devoted to satire about a different theme. You don't have to hate something to make fun of it. And his purpose is clearly to entertain, not to persuade. Anybody who rejects Christianity because some guy wrote a satyrical article about World of Warcraft has a screw loose.

Anybody else wonder about the mentality of someone who would dedicate so much time and energy solely to hating something? How would everybody feel if this guy's target was Buddhists or Jews or Blacks? The fact that Christianity moved him so much to dedicate a site to mocking it, should tell him something. If something truly strikes you as stupid you're apathetic to it, you don't feel the threatened need to be spiteful towards it.

But, anyway, the article would have been funnier if it ended after two paragraphs, I think we all got the point by then and it was just the same recycled shtick after that.

When the inauguration of the president includes numerous references to God and an entire section devoted to prayer, some might say that the secularists are justified in feeling threatened.

"I think the reason so many people are open to hearing about Jesus in the World of Warcraft is because the majority of people who play the game are lonely kids who don't have any friends. I doubt any of them play sports so you can pretty much guess that there are lots of gay boys and fat little pale-faced Wiccan girls on the servers who hate themselves and escape into virtual characters so they don't have to deal with their pathetic lives. When they hear that someone loves them, even if it is just the Lord Jesus Christ, they always want to hear more!"

Go start a thread in P&N.

Actually I remember this site and people coming up before the Nov Election.

This is the folks that won the Election and running the Country. Isn't it great

Dude...
this is the USA... UNDER FREAKING GOD is a part of our culture...
it will never be completetly removed..
I dont believe in any god anywhere... and yet I have no problem with it...
The Military, the Government all still tie god to alot of things...
there were Prayer segments at my gradulation from bootcamp, incoming and outgoing Commanding Officers.. and many other Military formal events..
you just zone out and think about what you want to think about...

whats the big deal about all this....
if a die hard athiest has no problem with it why cant the rest of the World accept other cultures and traditions for what they are.. words.. and words only.. its only offensive if you let it be...

probably because the site is based in the united states where christianity is the major religion. would a satire about buddhism really hold people's attention?
