The A+, Network+, and MCDST are all worth pursuing if you don't have any real-world business IT experience.

Since it does not expire, I would say, why not. Once it's done it's done, and it's a cert that always stays with you. I'd like to get mine eventually but I just don't have the time to study. I may even just wing it, it can't be too hard.
