A case that would match a G5.

And if so, where can I find it? It is of my likeness that Apple has the most gorgeous case in computer world.

IMO... i don't think Apple has the most gorgeous case in computer world...

any lian-li totaly pwns a g5 case. Also, certain lian-lis look almost exactly like the g5 case. Their a little pricy, but will last forever, have great airflow and look amazing.😀

I'm with the OP on the Apple case being gorgeous!! They are simply beautiful. But for PC's the Lian-li ???V1000??? looks a lot like it. 🙂

*coughs a hairball when realizes prize*

Dear me... there's this Cooler Master case, too... Wave Master. Sweet as it gets.

However... none is a replica of the G5 case. What's MOST impresive is the INCREDIBLE neatness (is that a word?) inside the case-

I disagree...no one does style like apple. No one..

I have never seen a case that could rival a Mac. I am considering buying a Mac and using it for a PC (may require a lot of modding, I dont know if they use ATX or not)

Nope, no ATX. Custom designed motherboard in the G5 with distinct thermal zones.

The G5 case is indeed nice, but unfortunately falls short in the drive bay arena. For the size of the case, Apple should have added more 'expansion' areas. From what I gather, other companies have doors you can buy that hold hard drives on them.

there's a dude on the web who modded a G5 case to run his pc stuff, well quite a few have. but this dude did a KILLER job. The ammount of work and time he put into it had me in awe. My upper limits would be = new case + putting old stuff in it = 1 hour. I can't handle "modding" too lazy 🙂

more expansion bays? What for? One Super-Drive and you're ready to go. No need for anything else.

Just PC has an unusual looking case that I sort of like and it costs a LOT less than the Chenbro Gaming Bomb II referenced above. It's called the Gazelle 899.

Multiple optical drives have their uses, if only to avoid having to constantly disc swap. Plus there are literally a ton of 5.25" peripherals that are handy.

But mainly, I'm talking about 3.5" bays, of which I believe the G5 only has two, eliminating any sort of serious RAID or JBOD setup without resorting to 3rd party accessories for the case. Given the size of the G5 case, the drive bay situation is extremely weak, and given the status of the powermac as a professional workstation, the drive bay situation is simply unacceptable for its intended market. External hard drives are an option, but they incur added cost over internal drives, often loose any sort of aesthetic appeal, and are in general more of a hassle to work with then internal drives.

well the g5 is about external firewire drives and such. sata external raid is possible now too right? and osx makes it easy to raid drives anyways.

as for cases..pc only has poor copies

I took a look a second look at the Lian-Li 1000 Plus... it DOES look VERY sweet... but $175 USD with no PSU... well, that's expensive; but then again, best things always are.

the g5 does look nice guys u need to go look again cause u guys are wrong that thing looks sick lian li's are nice but the g5 is soo perfect its almost bad.
