A call to boycott Nvidia games for ATI/AMD owners

It doesn't make logical sense to be in the Physic business and to ignore the CPU. Physx is a multi-platform, device, engine, library and tool set, and so much more than just GPU physics.
But Nvidia isn't in the physics business, they're in the GPU business and so far it seems their goal for physX is to leverage their GPU sales not more nor less.

You may disagree with that (because there are a whole lot of reasons why it's bad for gaming as a whole), but it makes sense for them and developing a SSE/AVX version of physx wouldn't help them much from a business perspective (and cost a considerable amount of money, it's not just changing a compile switch like some seem to believe), so I doubt we'll see much engagement there.

But hey there are other libraries out there as well and we can at least hope that physX keeps other vendors (Intel, AMD/Ati) on their toes to do more about them. The future of physics on the PC hopefully won't be physX, but it surely will affect the field.

I don't understand how having choice is some-how a bad thing but a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I hear it all the time but how does one get the ball rolling? By itself? Waiting? Proprietary is never ideal but there is good there. So many allow idealism to be the enemy of good. Why shouldn't some customers have good while we wait for more ideal standards? Just because others don't desire to risk and invest; why should nVidia and their customers have to wait?

You didn't see people trying to boycott AMD because Nvidia didn't offer "eyefinity" did you?
No, of course you didn't. The only thing absolutely certain is, that there certainly isn't a shortage of double standards here.
I'd ask the OP why he raised no complaint against AMD over eyefinity and at the time, Nvidia's lack thereof?

You are right, there are no shortage of double standards from both nVidia fans and AMD/ATI fans. That is why I emplore everyone to join me and some of the more mature members that don't get involved in this garbage. You can rise above it... Just treat each issue seperately and remove those ruby and emerald colored eye glasses.

For once, I agree with you. I will say this about you Keys. You stick to your guns and that I respect. I don't always agree like I said, but the double standard comment is right on the mark.
