isn't outlook or outlook express capable of that?

those only run on MS OS's (and you would have to run exchange server, not just the clients-O and OE), you need to use something web based that can be accessed through a browser

there are some forum software that include calendar features, and there are stand alone calendars, some written in perl, php, basically you can put them on an intranet site (http server) that everyone on your network can access

check freshmeat.net

you can install both/either perl or php onto a win32 server

do a search on freshmeat.net for "calendar" , you'll get "196 projects found"

read through the descriptions and pick one that sound like what you want, then install it and try it out

if you need this for a LOT of people you will probably need to use one of them that uses a database (MySQL , etc) which will make it harder, the #2 result on that search sounds interesting but requires MySQL, so you will have to decide if you want to tackle that piece as well

#7 looks interesting but also requires MySQL

#9 looks really interesting, if you are willing to setup a linux server, it need python and zope, check out the demo site -> demo

#14 only requires perl, perl is easy to install on a windows 2000 server

#20 might be the best bet, linky , but it isn't free , sample of the software running

I like to use the calendar function on my Yahoo home page.
You could have everyone's computer sign in to that automatically when they start their webbrowser.
