A/C is out in the building

transformer failed in the building sometime around 6 am. it got fixed about noon. the lights work, the computers work, but the A/C is off. i don't know if it's broken or the building management doesn't want to pay mid-day rates.

pretty awful. i should go get my gym shorts and wear those.

OR, like my last company, is it all controlled by the same crappy unit that's underpowered to begin with?

server room doesn't have A/C either. it's really just a closet with 2 computers in it so it doesn't have a dedicated system. i don't think any of the offices in this building are of the sort that they'd have a dedicated system just for their servers.


edit: chillers were just turned back on, so 30 minutes until we've got cool air

The power at the office building I work in had the same exact issue.

Transformer blew at around 6 am it was repaired by 11 am but when I arrived this morning at 8 they told me to go home so it was basically a half day for me. It's still pretty dead here now and its almost 4
