A/C doesn't work

looks like the previous tenant used a filter that was much smaller than the intake vent. i'm guessing the works are full of dust. is this something i could clean myself, or should i call an A/C specialist?

Tenant? That means your landlord should pay for it, unless it's something you purchased that had a tenant living in.

Otherwise, you will probably need the ducts cleaned. You can probably find a coupon for that in the sunday paper, but like carpet cleaning coupons, they always find something to add on to boost the charge.

oh, i'll be billing back to the landlord. but both my roommate and i work all day so if it's something i could do myself i'd rather do that than wait around for a repair guy or a duct cleaning service.
