NVIDIA's cards will eventually get GLIDE SUPPORT. duh...

now, nv20 will launch earlier now cuz of the #1 competitor gone.
no need to further polish it.

I don't think that is going to happen. Glide is all but dead. No new software is written for glide. So what is the point? I personally could care less about playing Tribes or any other Glide only game.

It is very sad to see 3dfx go under. They started the 3D hardware acceleration movement!

That will never happen - all the developers are running away from Glide as fast as they can. Even 3DFX said it was dead and that DirectX was what they were focusing on.

um, its still better than nothing, and Tribe2 only support OpenGL.
And, nvidia is so fast at written driver so it doesnt matter for that much
to add glide support.

nvidia could have had glide support now, had they wanted to. Glide has been open sourced for a while now.

i guarantee they aren't going to ever implement "true" glide support, i.e. "to-the-bone"

that would require some hardware futzing, and I can't see nvidia tweeking their hardware just to run oldass glide games
