A bizzare question

Hi everyone

I have a really odd question, i want to hook up one monitor to two computers and be able to switch between them, can this be done? what would i need to get in order to do this? (if it CAN be done that is) :eek:

You can get really cheap monitor switches at your local computer store. I find that because of the excess connections and cabling image quality is reduced and there is ghosting. You'd be better off to get a dual head video card in my opinion.

What on earth would a dual head video card accomplish?

He has one monitor and two computers.

If you want to use the same keyboard, monitor and mouse on both systems, get a KVM switch. One with high quality cables should eliminate any ghosting/quality problems. If you have separate keyboards/mice and just want to switch the monitor, either get a monitor with dual inputs (as was suggested) or get a simple analog A/B monitor switch.

I agree, you can get a 2 port KVM switch which doesn't cost too much and comes with cables (like a Linksys one), or you can get a simple monitor switch which will let you use either one or the other computer with the same monitor.
