last time i put a system together was about two years ago when i made an athlon 1.2Ghz rig. since then i been out of the game, but now i'm trying to put some stuff together for a cheap and decent system. i'm looking at athlon 1500's (1.33Ghz), but most reviews i can find for motherboards and such is for the top of the line stuff. any recommendations on cheap mobo's to go with the 1500?
also anyone know online vendors that carry ATX cases with powersupplies (300w) for cheap? (i want some cheap and crappy case)
cpu and memory i can easily find off of pricewatch, the mobo too once i know what type i should be getting

Try www.newegg.com for your ATX case and power supply. Look for a KT333 or KT400 chipset mobo on newegg. These should work with the 1500 AMD. Newegg has great prices on their products and low S/H costs.

Alrighty... people keep suggesting a KT333 and I don't really get this... if you are planning on a 1500+ system I'd go with a KT266A because any of the 266Mhz FSB CPUs cannot take advantage of a PC2700. Yet, if you are planning on upgrading to a later CPU like the 2800+ with the 333Mhz FSB then yah, KT333 is good but make sure it can support it. Alrighty there! LOL and salaam.
