a bird just flew into my window and now it's dead :(

A bird once flew straight into a window in my sunroom. It fell to the ground, either dead or stunned. We even had curtains up, but it apparently still thought it could either fly through or thought it was another bird. Anyway, one of my dogs quickly picked it up and started chomping. I had to pull the thing out of his mouth by the birds leg. It was gross, I felt the leg snap, and there was blood everywhere.

My experiences with birds and windows:
- A mockingbird kept smacking into the front window at home. It did it repeatedly, at least a hundred times. All you'd hear inside was "bonk, bonk, bonk.........." it'd hit with its beak or head, fly back a few inches, and do it again.

- A cardinal would fight with its reflection in the side-view mirror of my car. Perch on the door, fly right into the mirror (Thock!), perch on top of the mirror, chirp, look around confused, and re-perch on the door. He did this so often, day after day, that his claws wore a bare spot in the paint over the mirror.

Birds fly into my windshield, thoughts fall from my thoughts
This good luck charm hanging off my arm was left here by the police

hah. Reminds me of the time a sparrow flew in front of my car. All I saw was feathers flying in the air in my rear-view. Couldn't stop laughing and almost had to pull over.

Negligent homicide for having such big clean windows for you. If it happens again you're getting charged 🙁

I found a live little bird in my yard a couple days ago. It was gasping. I picked it up and brought it inside. I put him in a cokking pot from the kitchen. Haha not what you are thinking. With a towel in it it made a good nest for him. I tried to give it some water but it just shook it off it's beak.

I went outside for a bit to do some things and when I came back it was gone. I thought "great now it's flying around in my house". After looking for a big I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I saw it only got a few feet out of the "nest" I made and was laying flat on the floor with it's head turned sideways. I can't believe how dead it looked and how fast it happened. Like it had been dead for days.

I'm not superstitious, generally, but that strikes me as a bad omen.

I came to work yesterday (sunday) and there were four dead songbirds in front of the door, seemed pretty accurate.

There was this one time a crow was hovering above cars on I-5. As I drove by it the bird suddenly stopped flapping in an adjacent lane, and fell to the the ground... I think it got run over then.... road kill.

If it collects flies then it's dead 🙂

i saw a hawk flying on I-10 next to me one time, he kept up with us at 65 for about 2 minutes at eye level and just flew up and out. i think he was racing us. oddest thing ive ever seen a bird do. well, that and swooping under my motorcycle at 80 mph. that was weird too.
