By Rand Paul of all people.

Which is weird cuz republicans love abusing the lower classes and such warrants are pretty much custom tailored to abuse them.

Paul's "brave symbolic gesture"

Another conservative Republican that has opposed no-knock warrants for almost 40 years along with most of the Patriot Act. Funny how so many Democrats voted for and support those laws, while they still try to pin all the blame on the right.

eh, he's just waiting it to get unanimous support in the Senate so that he can be the one person to vote against it.

Such a hilariously broad brush you stroke with. So one libertarian who masquerades as a republican (or is it the other way around?) opposes no-knocks, and that equates in your mind to ALL rethuglicans oppose this, and it's all the Dem's fault anyway... holy fucking delusional.

Indirectly related: Some police feel unsafe due to current policies.

I dont know if these guys realize it, but politics is the main reason we have a police force.
People get together and discuss the current situation, realize they need some sort of organization to protect them, and their property, tax the public, make a police force, and assign it laws to enforce and policies to abide by. Its always been political. When the cops start doing things the citizens dont like, they (usually) get together and discuss it some more, and enact changes.
I believe the main problem with Americas police system is its so big and powerful its become a culture unto itself, and they forgot the whole point of them being around is NOT to stoke their egos and give them some place to go because they cant or wont succeed at anything else, but to protect and serve the public. They need to see themselves as public servants, not an alternative military force. Thats also how our civilians and our government should be treating them. When they stop serving the public they need to be corrected, or disbanded. And thats whats happening all across America.
Maybe we just need to clean house and start all over with something new. Something different, that might actually work.

This is just an opinion piece but it gets the point across:

Redefine what police are, and start making changes.

If you knew Rand Paul you wouldn't be surprised. Anyone who votes against this is just a power hungry thug.

One Republican with some Libertarian leanings, unlike Democrats with Authoritarian leanings who seem to be in the majority in here.

It won't be the Democrats' fault if this, or the similar bill introduced by the Democrats, fail to become law. But you already knew that, right?
