A better deal/laptop than this?

This HP from Best Buy will mainly just be used for web browsing etc
I made a mistake when the girl I work with showed it to me, and I laughed at the price and told her she could do better. Now I am left wondering if maybe I made a mistake. Anything comparable for less anywhere?

"Basic" specs can be same. Of course 4GB RAM would be better, but I guess 3 will have ot suffice, as I am trying to make her cost lower and not higher 🙂

Thank you in advance.

dell outlet has a 20% off all laptops right now, i think the following is a better deal, and they have free shipping too

•Processor: AMD Athlon II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P360 (2.3GHz, 1MB, 3.2GT/s)
•Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
•Inspiron 15 - M5030
•320 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
•3 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
•8X DVD +/- RW Drive
•Integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250

$349 - 69.80 (20%) = $279.20 course there is still tax.

Thats a much better laptop than the one in the OP. The E-350 works well in 11.6-13.3in machines, but in a 15.6in package, its not a good deal.

That don't make no lick of sense; in one sense I understand that the E-350 is very under-powered in comparison to what's available in the 15.6" form factors, but it doesn't mean that the E350 starts to under-perform just because it's in a bigger shell - after all, the screen display resolution is the same as a 11.6" display (which is a whole another can o' worms).

If you're looking to just surf the web, type some papers and maybe play some movies on it (esp. on that craptacular display), it'll do fine; it's certainly not a blazing hot, smoking value performance-wise for enthusiasts (actually, could you even imagine a laptop that retails for $300 say, 5 years ago? The market's certainly improved, but looking at it strictly from what's currently available, it's not blazing hot.), but to the casual observer it'd be all one and the same.

Thanks guys...I have to get back to her about it today, so I guess I'll eat my words and tell her that one's okay. If she orders online...she'll have shipping added (and possibly tax as well) so $299 is good. On top of that, she won't have to wait for it to get to her.

I did like the Dell outlet idea, but then again...there's shipping.
