Mmmm...Smithwicks... a great bitterness to it that i just can't get enough of....

I find a great "Black and Tan" to be Guinness and Kilkenny, though I guess that's more of a Black and Sunburnt.. :D

awww man! We don't have Kilkenny here in the states...that stuff was awesome!

I guess it depends on where you live in the U.S., it is available in Colorado Springs.

Killkenny or Killarney?

Kilkenny, yummm... The great thing about living in Quebec is that there are so many micro-breweries. Of the more commercial varieties Hoegaarden is quite good, but I'm a dark beer man, so I usually hit up the brew pubs around town, they're great and they usually have some really good dark beers. Yum!

I've started brewing my own though, first batch was a kick-ass IPA with a good amount of hops. Second one will be an English-style ale, and the third one coming is a coffee stout. That last batch looks really good

Check out where I'm headed tonight Mondial de la biere. I love Montreal in the summer, it's such a great city to live in :D

Empyrean Dark Side Vanilla Porter... only problem is I haven't found it in bottles yet. I may have to drive out to Lincoln, NE to pick some up.

This is a terrific Belgian style ale. You have to be thirsty to finish a bottle (750 ml) which is fairly potent.

Highly recommended if you can find it!

haven't drank anything in a while, but damn if i don't love the belgians and their trappist ales.
here's to having good taste

Drinking a Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier right now.

My favorite beer is Diebels Alt but I cannot get it around here.

you guys can buy it there? how much for a 12 pack?

Six bottles are $6.99.

edit: You can also get Paulaner Pils and Paulaner Lager here.

AHHH!

I LOVE paulaner pils. hmm

ship me some!

Pretty much every liquor store here has Paulaner. It should be available in Illinois as well.

Nope. it used to be sold at the local store. But they quit about 5 years ago.

I looked up on paulner's site (they list who sales it) and the closest was in clinton Iowa (about 2 hours away). not many places sale it out here.

but hey if anyone in IL knows a place let me know!

edit: everyone here has hacker-pasher (whatever its called, made by the same people). but nobody carries paulener anymore. darn shame too. its a great beer.

lol...I'm leaving for Clinton in like 20 minutes...how ironic

:p

As of July 1, Georgia's beer laws will allow legal sale of beer over 6% ABV.

Fausto is very happy about this. :D

what is the new limit?
14% :beer::D

at which point it's barley wine anyway....
True. I'm mostly psyched about the stuff in the 6-9% range that we haven't been able to get all these years.

Most stouts fall in that range :D

edit: perfect, found a good link! in fact, ive never browsed the whole site, neat list! ty for the link!

For me, my favorite beer is whatever local, quality IPA is available. Recently, that has been Fish Tales, Mongoose, and LaConner. In a pinch I am OK with Red Hook IPA as well.
