A Backlit KB needed

Hi all,

I am looking for a keyboard that illuminated and trying to decide between either the Logitech G15 currently on sale for $65 shipped or the Illuminated KB also from Logitech that I see for $50 shipped.

Game a little but not hardcore.

Thoughts or experience with either.

why not go to a store and try it out.

if you ask me, the G15 is too big for my desk so i will go for the other.

I love my G-15. The newer version is smaller than the original, and it's been a treat to use. I have found the LCD display very useful as a gamer too. I use it to display Ventrilo information.

The Saitek Eclipse II is a good board - backlit with a choice of 3 colors.

I like the standard logitech backlit keyboard. It's definitely different though and you have to not mind laptop-style keys.

leaning toward the Logitech Illuminated kb for simplicity.

its too bad wireless illuminated ones are expensive. eg the ms one with mouse.

I'm in for one if the KB types well. It looks a bit small, but it might be good. I'm a KB nutt and this looks like it could be great. The black one looks very nice. My diNovo Edge doesn't have a 10 key pad, so not having one doesn't bother me.

It has the 3 color thing to and has touch controls. Kind of big but really nice looking and easy control interface.

I had one of these a while back. With my work schedule, I was on my computer late at night and early in the morning. The backlit keyboards don't do too well with my eyes in the dark seeing as how I have really good peripheral vision.

If you don't know where all the keys are by heart or you just want a nice backlit keyboard, I would highly recommend the Saitek Eclipse 3. The light isn't as bright as most, so it isn't too distracting for some people to use at night and the multiple colors is a nice feature.

If you know where all of the keys are by heart and you have decent peripheral vision, I would avoid this keyboard or at least avoid using it at night. You get used to it, but if you are heavy into gaming, then you know that for certain games, a completely dark atmosphere is key to immersion and backlit keyboards tend to break that immersion quite easily.

I just got the illuminated kb last night and I must say this is a great looking kb. Its so thin and light. The keys are great and so unlike the chunky kb's I was accustomed to. No need for all fancy colors here. Just illuminated yellow white makes my desktop look so classy and there are 3 brightness and off settings to boot.

I would recommend this kb to everyone.

Hi,
I know you have already bought your keyboard, but in the interest of general info, has anyone tried the: Microsoft SideWinder X6 Keyboard

Just remember that the site is located in Australia, so it is in AUD$ not US$. on average, AUD$1=US$0.80

Or what about the Razer Lycosa Gaming Keyboard Mirror Edition

Or just go to the Keyboard section of the site, just to see a better selection. Maybe we can start a new thread about various gaming backlit keyboards too...

I also have the Logitech Illuminated Kb and I must say I'm impressed with this piece of hardware. I've had both versions of the G15 and Razer Lycosa... none of those compare to this. It's simple, effective and a pleasure to type on.
