Premiums for the Enzo are hand written off a manual chart...I don't think there are even standard underwriting formulas for the exotics...since unlike most cars, it appreciates in value. In addition, most insurance companies have caps (even through 1st party claims) for the amounts that are paid out for certain vehicles.

However for many non-rare exotics, insurance is actually quite cheap. I've seen some vipers, lotuses, lower end ferraris, porsches, etc, being insured cheaper than your run-of-the-mill Honda Civic driven by a 18 yo living in the city.

In answer to some of the claims related questions, State Farm will simply bill the drunk driver for any amount greater than his property damage limits. The enzo owner should have no out of pocket expenses.

heh, I don't think the truck driver has enough propert damage on his policy to cover that. I wonder if they'll make him responsible for the rest. His policy is probably gonna get cancelled. Maybe the Enzo guy too now that they see how much it costs to fix his car.

when you have a ferrari (or other exotic cars), you dont get run of the mill insurance

they have specialized insurance for exotic cars

Yeah, if I had an Enzo, I definitely wouldn't be using State Farm....

I believe that's the car in this months Top Gear magazine.... they were supposed to put a comparo between an MC12 and an Enzo... but the Enzo hit a bus... or the other way around or whatever.

They had to find another Enzo in a moment's notice.

EDIT: Oh and the guy who owned the crashed Enzo also owned the MC12 :D
