qft on that one. Anything that goes that fast and has a human being in it.... pretty cool.
(yes, yes, rockets are neat too, not quite the same thing, though)

A-10s are awesome.....the depleted uranium shells the cannon fires are as bug as a coke bottle. It can fly missing half a wing, one engine, and a stabilizer IIRC.

Because the surfaces will expand when the SR-71 is travelling at high speeds due to the heat generated, the wings are designed to be leaky on the ground. Thus, fuel guzzles out while the plane is on the ground. Ah, a true American. *Tips my hat.

the engine from an F-16 must be used to start the SR-71's engine on the ground.

A-10s kick ass. There's nothing like the sound of an A-10 roaring overhead and opening up that cannon on a target, nothing like it. It sounds like an unholy beast from hell, seriously.

i had the pleasure to see two of them in real life when they came (all of a sudden) flying from behind a hill and then straight over us.

We were kids, back in Germany and on a field trip w/ school...seems they had those for training in southern germany on some bases....anyway i was all hyped because i always liked the A-10 and even built models when i was a kid...and then all of a sudden you see two of them coming towards you in real life 🙂 Almost wet my pants 🙂
