So... intel says there are friendlies on the ground fairly nearby, but they're not in your area. You can't see these friendlies. Suddenly, you see suspected enemies. These suspected enemies have the bright orange markers on them that friendly vehicles carry. You can't confirm what the vehicles are, nor that they are not friendly, but you hazard a guess that they look kinda like russian rocket launchers. You think shooting stuff would be fun. What to do... what to do? Shoot them! Yeeeeeeee haaaa!!!!

This is why it is the opinion of some that whilst the US may have some of the best technology out there, the people operating this gear are substandard to other military forces. It's shocking that battle command can be so wrong, despite all our GPS systems and other technological goodies.
Got to feel sorry for the feller there who ended up being the one who killed one person and injured 4. The bit where he hears he's just creamed his own allies in an A-10... not good.
