I'm running Win98 SE right now. But will be going to a fresh install of 2000.
I'm gathering the latest drivers for my components. I've got drivers downloaded for the components below...
* V5 & Radeon VIVO (I'm not sure which I'll use)
* Herc GTXP
* SMC NIC (for cable modem)
* HP printer
This seems like such a short list. Am I overlooking something?

Thanks :)

[Edit] I also downloaded the latest DirectX from MS.

Thanks, I forgot about those 4 in 1's. It's an Iwill KK266R+

what m/board will you be using?
if it's a via based chipset, you'll need the via drivers!

If You're going to use the Radeon (I would), look for MMC 7.5 download(try looking in the top post in the AIW forum at Rage3d) and 6025 beta drivers from ATI.

why are you even burning them to rom why not just partition your drive and use the second part for backups and etc.. and remember to always use second drive for everything besides .exe's oh yea think about installing XP instead also!

rbV5,
I have already got that one too ;)

I'm planning on slicing up my drive partitions even more. So they won't stay the same as they are now. And I don't have Partition Magic, wish I did.

I'm planning on "ghosting" my 2000 partition just after I get it installed, but before any drivers are loaded. That way I can do fairly clean parts swapping without all the driver clutter.

No "XP" for me. I don't like the idea of asking permission from Bill to use the software I've paid for.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if every
alarm clock,
TV,
VCR,
DVD player,
refrigerator,
microwave,
flashlight,
light bulb,
washer,
dryer,
electric toothbrush,
etc. etc. etc.
had to be "activated" before you could use it?
:D
