____Should there be a new forum created for "Help with new build/upgrade" requests?____

With most of the "General Hardware" forum being clogged up by "Help me" threads...
Should there be a NEW forum created for those seeking advice on new builds and upgrade suggestions?

Then I would wonder what people would post in general hardware. Seems like everything has its own catagory now. General hardware would be for those people who don't feel like posting in the correct section because it would get less traffic.

Honestly, there are too many forums now. The search for forum purity will only fragment the user base further. I think the recent reorganization was less than successful as it is, because most of the forums seem to have very little message traffic these days, with one or two big exceptions.

ditto

Absolutely not. That is basically what this forum is for. General discussion of current/near future hardware.

There are other forums for troubleshooting etc etc etc.

This forum has evolved into specing out new builds, that's about it.

Am I sleeping or something ?

What is the .... Computer Help ... forum supposed to be about if not for this ??

well pretty much each specific category of hardware already has its own forum...what else would you talk about in general hardware?

1. People do not like to read. 🙁

2. People like personal attention.
Everything in me wants to believe differently, but in the end I'm forced to say...
You Are Correct Sir!

I vote yes. Either create a seperate forum or change the name and description* on this one. As it is now General hardware basically catches all the "New build" and wrong forum posts.

*: General Computer Hardware Discussion. This is the place to discuss the latest computer hardware issues and technology.

Many of the New builders are new to it, or and do not have the across the board the current information to Integrate a new system.

So the General hardware forum is a good jumping board to start with and then later on to focus on a specific forum.

Make more sense to create a new forum for new technologies, and evolving hardware, rather than changing the nature of this forum.
