Update
I read somewhere that the nvidia control panel changed with the Forceware 90 drivers.
I did all my driver work in safe mode, using Driver Cleaner after each non-working driver install.
I even tried Omega Drivers.

I'm trying to get a PCI Express 7300GT running with TV-Out.
Seems nVidia TV-Out issues are holding me back.

1. BIOS and Windows loading screen are fine until drivers get loaded.
2. At the point in Windows boot-up where drivers are loaded, the TV screen goes crazy and is unwatchable.
3. This has happened with two fresh Windows loads.
4. I've tried newest nVidia drivers and the official MSI drivers for the card.

My configuration...
OS - Windows XP Pro fully updated
MB - Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 (ULI M1695 chipset, latest BIOS flash)
CPU - AMD 64 4000+
Video - MSI 7300GT (512MB) PCI Express
RAM - 1GB PC-3200 (512MB x 2)
TV - Sony 36" WEGA (tube)

Any work arounds I can try?

Ive had some experience with PC's and TV's from my 7600GT to 8800GT to HD4870 so I might be able to help.

What connectors do you have on your 7300GT/TV and which ones are you using for this? Dont think you are hitting HDCP issues.

VGA to VGA is usually fine, even if you are using a DVI to VGA adapter on the PC end. All 3 systems have been able to use VGA no problem for me.

Not all of PC to TV problems are PC/connection related. Set your TV to the correct aspect ratio for your desired resolution. Look into your TV settings for that specific connection type before you enter Windows. This may point out an option you are missing or give you a hint as to what is wrong.

Anandtech is a PC website. Most of us are PC-minded people. When hooking up to a TV, we forget that the TV may be set up incorrectly too :) I burned my 7600GT's Component/TV Out feed by trying to get it to display correctly on my PC. Turned out to be the aspect ratio on my TV.

Like I said, the video is fine until the drivers load, then the screen gets screwy.

I'm using a S-video cable for the connection.
I've used this same TV with an ATI 9600XT, GeForce 7600GT and this 7300GT.

BTW, I can get a good picture going into Safe Mode. That's one of the reasons I suspect it's a driver issue.

Sounds reasonable.

Software problems I am not so hot on.

How would installing the latest drivers through Safe Mode be? Perhaps Driver Cleaner too.

1. The video card is fine. I can use a monitor without issue.
2. It's the nvidia drivers that are the problem.
3. The TV nor video card are PAL... I'm in North America.
4. I've tried newest driver as well as older Official MSI driver for the 7300GT.
